This alternative photographic process creates a “photograph” without the use of a camera or a lens by placing objects directly onto photographic paper. Students are encouraged to think out of the box and experiment with different techniques to create these unique works of art.Unlike some of the other alternative processes, this process produces a true black and white image and can only be done in a traditional darkroom. This is a great workshop for non-photographers who may be interested in learning a new way to create art without having to navigate the technical aspects of cameras.A $10 registration fee will be applied to your total.This class meets on April 22, 29 and May 6.

The first three classes will start with this brief lecture and will be followed by painting a still life, or from a traditional photo of a painting in a traditional method. The second 3 weeks will also begin with a brief lectured followed by painting in the Contemporary way of the Impressionists. We will study the love of Color and Light in different traditions and notice the effects of each technique. You will understand how society influences art and the way we see things.
