Art Heals Grief: Mourning the Seasons of the Feminine
A cycle-centered expressive arts gathering for women navigating the passages of change. This class is an invitation to honor your feminine seasons: menstruation, miscarriages/infertility, postpartum shifts, identity loss, abortion, perimenopause, and menopause, through artmaking in a sacred studio space. Together, we will explore how creativity becomes a language for the body’s wisdom and the emotions that move through it. Using simple materials such as watercolor, colored pencil, collage, weaving and fiber arts, you’ll be gently guided through prompts to externalize your inner experience, the griefs of change, the ache of letting go, and the quiet joy of renewal. Our goal isn’t to make “beautiful” art, but to practice purposeful mourning, using color, texture, and movement to honor what your body already knows. Whether you’re mourning an aspect of fertility, a loss of self, a relationship change, a diagnosis, or the transitions of aging, you are welcome here. As we paint, draw, and assemble, we’ll reconnect with the cycles that shape our womanhood, finding compassion in the natural rhythm of release and return. Through art-centered practice, we move what’s stuck inside, making space for healing, wholeness, and renewal to emerge. Give yourself permission to mourn, to mend, and to meet yourself again, through art, body, and story.
Disclaimer: Art.Heals.Grief gatherings complement professional care and provide support by integrating community and artmaking. It’s essential to prioritize therapy for deeper emotional needs. Seek local providers or contact crisis lines for immediate assistance.
