When leading classes Darren feels that Clay is a terrific medium for teaching because it’s a forgiving medium. A piece can be reworked multiple times until the artist is happy with the results. Darren uses multiple techniques when creating pottery. Combining wheel throws pieces with traditional hand gilding techniques, along with using no traditional firing techniques such as Raku, and Pit firing Darren blurs the line between functional And decorative pottery. This class meets once a week for 8 weeks.
