482.21.2 | Wed 6:00-9:00 PM | Room E
Begins July 20 | $263 | 7 Weeks
When leading classes Darren feels that clay is a terrific medium for teaching because it’s a forgiving medium. A piece can be reworked multiple times until the artist is happy with the results. A beginner and a skilled artist can both come away with a feeling of satisfaction when working with clay. This class is handbuilding based.
Darren uses multiple techniques when creating pottery. Using traditional hand gilding techniques, along with using non-traditional firing techniques, such as, Raku and Pit firing, Darren blurs the line between functional and decorative pottery. This class meets once a week for 7 weeks, meeting July 20, 27, Aug 3, 10, 17, 31, Sept 7.
Materials: You will need one block of firing clay. You can purchase at Art Lab on the first day for $24.46
A $20 registration fee will be applied to the total.
