Students in this class will explore the art of cartooning, focusing on visual storytelling, character design, and dynamic action. Through exercises in anatomy, exaggeration, and movement, students will strengthen their drawing skills while developing a personal style that brings their characters and scenes to life. Using reference materials or original ideas, participants will create illustrations that capture humor, energy, and narrative. Working alongside fellow artists with similar interests will fuel creativity, inspire new ideas, and encourage engaging discussion.

This class meets once a week for 10 weeks.

A $20 registration fee will be applied to your total.

Supply List for Cartooning
  • Sketchbook or drawing paper (preferably at least 8.5″ x 11″)
  • Pencils (HB, 2B, or your preferred drawing pencils)
  • Erasers (kneaded and standard)
  • Pencil sharpener
  • Fine-liner pens or ink pens for outlining (various sizes recommended)
  • Colored pencils or markers (optional, for adding color)
  • Ruler or straight edge (for panel layouts or perspective)
  • Reference materials (photos, magazines, or printouts for characters, poses, or scenes)
