Begins April 14 | $281 | 8 weeks
This course will cover the basics principles for painting outdoors also known as “all’aperto” in Italian or “en plein air” in French. The first session will introduce the materials needed and basic set up to paint outdoors. The instructor will review how to compose a painting using a viewfinder to assist in designing and scaling the subject matter. Basic drawing skills are a prerequisite so one can focus on learning color mixing on site to capture natural light and shadows. Students will have the experience of working outdoors with the instructor, asking questions and developing a painting created on location. Class will be postponed if it’s raining when class is scheduled, classes will be tacked onto the end of the semester.
See below for supplies list.
Open to all intermediate and experienced painters.
Experience in painting with oils be it still life or from the model, is a prerequisite.
This class meets once a week for 8 weeks.
A $20 registration fee will be applied to your total.
