    This course is designed for all levels, painters and students, who want to learn more about Color Theory through the practice of still life painting. Each major and minor color in the color wheel will be scientifically explained and discussed. The practice of color theory will be implemented by painting a simple still life painting. For example, students will begin with the color yellow by painting a lemon , concentrating and learning the properties of the colors in the yellow family, noting if it is transparent--semi transparent or opaque, if it has a high or low tinting strength, etc. Direct perception and painting while integrating the science of color will enhance the technique of painting realistically.See below for supplies list.This class meets once a week for 10 weeks.A $20 registration fee will be applied to your total.

Students will paint from life and imagination, while learning the importance of observation. Students will be taught how to mix color, how to look at proportions and see light and shadow.     How does someone learn to crochet? Adrienne learned from her grandmother when she was 9, and she has to warn you... it's very addictive. This is a ten-week crochet class for beginners who want to learn how to make with their hands in a steady and clear way. Students will start at the very beginning… how to hold the hook, how to hold the yarn, how to form the first loop. Each week builds on the last so you are not overwhelmed, just practicing, repeating, and gaining control. Students will learn the foundational stitches, how they actually work, make small projects such as a scarf, a granny square, a mug cozy, etc., and learn how to read patterns so they're not dependent on a teacher once the course ends. By the end of ten weeks, students will be able to start and complete a project on their own.This is a space for students to learn a skill, build confidence, and leave with their own handmade crochet projects. Advanced students welcome, this is also a space for guidance and community. Practice yarn provided, students must supply their own crochet hooks and project yarn.

    Open for beginners and for those who already have an established watercolor art practice. Students will be shown how to set up still life objects and paint from life. However, students may come with preconceived ideas of how or what they would like to paint using a photograph as reference. Different approaches will be discussed, and techniques demonstrated, glazing, color washes, dry brush, color mixing, and color relationships to name a few. Compositional options will also be explored.
