    This is an exciting painting course in which you will learn to paint in a classical traditional technique and a more modern one. I will give a brief lecture on art for the first 25 minutes of each class on the Western Tradition, Early Renaissance, High Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Impressionism. The first three classes will start with this brief lecture and will be followed by painting a still life, or from a traditional photo of a painting in a traditional method. The second 3 weeks will also begin with a brief lectured followed by painting in the Contemporary way of the Impressionists. We will study the love of Color and Light in different traditions and notice the effects of each technique. You will understand how society influences art and the way we see things. By the end of class, you will understand different painting methods and decide on which you would like to work through your artistic journey!Dates: April 10th, 17th, 24th, May 1st, May 15th and May 22nd.***There is no class on May 8th*** 
    This class meets once a week for 4 weeks.

  • Drawing and Painting for Teens Lynnanne Daly#644.4 | Tue 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM | Room B Began April 8 | $213 | 5 weeksThe instructor will reference painting styles, techniques, and artists with classical to modern qualities. Students will draw and paint from life and imagination, while being shown how to mix color, how to look at proportions, and see light and shadow. Students will be shown distinctions specific to painting and to drawing. They will learn how to work in a compositional manner.This class meets once a week for 5 weeks.
    All materials will be supplied for this class.

  • Griselda Lessard Healy grew up in St. James, Long Island, New York. There she studied still-life and landscape painting with Paul Russotto before moving to Europe and later Canada, where she studied and worked primarily as a musician while never letting her painting work fall far from hand and mind. When Griselda returned to the USA in 1987, her focus moved primarily towards figure painting, sculpture, and drawing. She studied in NYC at the Art Students League with Harvey Dinnerstein and at the National Academy of Design with Mary Beth McKenzie.You can see more of Griselda's work on her Website
