Each major and minor color in the color wheel will be scientifically explained and discussed. The practice of color theory will be implemented by painting a simple still life painting. For example, students will begin with the color yellow by painting a lemon , concentrating and learning the properties of the colors in the yellow family, noting if it is transparent--semi transparent or opaque, if it has a high or low tinting strength, etc. Direct perception and painting while integrating the science of color will enhance the technique of painting realistically.See below for supplies list.This class meets once a week for 10 weeks.A $20 registration fee will be applied to your total.
