- Draw Bridge: From Still Life to Life Drawing Annamarie Trombetta166.6 | Tue, 10:00am - 1:00pm | Room B Begins September 22 | $445 | 10 Weeks This course is designed to teach any student the rudimentary components for realistic drawing. Emphasis on observational drawing will include free-hand drawing from still life setups. Students will learn how to measure by sight and one class will be devoted to the basic principles of perspective. The course will explore drawing materials such as vine charcoal, charcoal pencils and working in pencil on various grades and types of paper. The subject matter will begin with simple set ups, still lifes and will progress to working from live models for the last 3 weeks. We will be working with a clothed model and if the students wish, from a nude model.See below for supply list A $20 registration fee will be added to your total.
- The Painting Studio Griselda Healy122.9 | Wed 12:00 - 3:00 PM | Room F Begins September 23 | $450 | 10 weeksFor the first 6 weeks students will choose their subjects to paint and for those of you interested in figure painting, the last 4 sessions will have a live model option for portrait painting. Unless there is a request for guidance, students are free to choose concepts and subject matter. For example, still life, landscape, abstraction/imagination, or copying images from photo references. Students can paint in any medium such as oil, acrylic, and/or watercolor. Different skills and approaches will be discussed, brush and paint application, transparencies, drawing in color, color mixing, and color relationships to name a few. I will present ways to build and refine your painting process towards a satisfactory result. Line, space, scale, color, volume, and value will be considered, and composition will be emphasized.Experienced students may attend the 4 weeks with the live model, with the instructor's permission, for a total price of $295. Various techniques of fine and applied arts are explored as campers create exciting take home artwork. Children will also explore nature, on the grounds of Snug Harbor.
