    For the first 6 weeks students will choose their subjects to paint and for those of you interested in figure painting, the last 4 sessions will have a live model option for portrait painting. Students can paint in any medium such as oil, acrylic, and/or watercolor.     There's a lot that goes into making comics - anatomy, character design, story structure, paneling, lettering, etc. Whether you've always admired comics and wanted to make your own or you've been making comics for a while and want to sharpen some of these skills, this class gives you the opportunity to experiment and grow. Each week, students will be given a mini-assignment in the first half of class that focuses on an element of comic creation. The second half of class will give students the opportunity to incorporate those elements into an ongoing 4-5 page comic project, with the last few weeks of the class devoted exclusively to completing this project.

    Learn how to get your camera off automatic. Students will be taught about aperture, ISO, and shutter speed and how they all relate to getting the shot you desire. Properly expose your images through exposure lessons, shooting, and in-class review. Includes discussions of camera settings, sensors, lenses, and file formats.  Students will learn to shoot in different lighting, objects in motion, indoor, and outdoor scenes.  Various topics will be discussed about your  digital camera, flash, manual settings, and editing.
