For the first 6 weeks students will choose their subjects to paint and for those of you interested in figure painting, the last 4 sessions will have a live model option for portrait painting. Unless there is a request for guidance, students are free to choose concepts and subject matter. For example, still life, landscape, abstraction/imagination, or copying images from photo references. Students can paint in any medium such as oil, acrylic, and/or watercolor. Different skills and approaches will be discussed, brush and paint application, transparencies, drawing in color, color mixing, and color relationships to name a few.
