    Open your child's creative abilities. Students will work with air dry clay to start and will be taught to hand build a variety of different types of clay pieces using various techniques such as:  slab, coil, pinch pot, joined clay, pressed molds & creative design. The last two weeks students will work on a ceramic piece which will be glazed & fired in our in-house kiln using professional glazes. All materials & firing included.
    This class meets once a week for 8 weeks.

  • Color to Canvas: Oil Painting Basics  Lynnanne O'Connor Daly128.0 | Wed, 5:30 - 8:00 PM | Room F Begins: September 23 | $272 | 8 weeks Starting from the beginning, students will be shown the proper handling of oil paint, including set-up and clean-up best practices. This class will explore the qualities that make oil painting unique, such as the ability of painting wet on wet, dry- brush, and the importance of the brush stroke; as well as explore various painting styles and techniques, referencing artists, and looking at classical and modern qualities of art. Students will paint from life and imagination, while learning the importance of observation. Students will be taught how to mix color, how to look at proportions, and how to see light and shadow.   • Making Comics: Teens

    There's a lot that goes into making comics - anatomy, character design, story structure, paneling, lettering, etc. This class aims to teach students all these aspects that make their favorite comics great, while giving them the opportunity to experiment and grow. Each week, students will be given a mini-assignment in the first half of class that focuses on an element of comic creation. The second half of class will give students the opportunity to incorporate those elements into an ongoing 2-3 page comic project, with the last few weeks of the class devoted exclusively to completing this project.
