This class will cover everything you need to know about sculpting, wedging clay, working with tools, glaze vs. underglaze, and how to finish your piece. Each student is encouraged to come into class with their own ideas of things they would like to sculpt or they can try out some of the suggested projects that Ryan will provide for you.Great for both those who are looking for an introduction to handbuilding and those who are more experienced, looking to improve their skills, or to have dedicated studio time to work on ceramic projects.A $20 registration fee will be applied to the total.Materials: Tools and glazes are provided, but you will need your own block of clay which you can buy at Art Lab for $26.54 on your first day of class.Students that are interested in acquiring their own glazes should find low-fire glazes that fire at cone 05 or 06, not cone 5 or 6, those are mid-fire glazes which will not work for low-fire clay.
