How does someone learn to crochet? Adrienne learned from her grandmother when she was 9, and she has to warn you... it's very addictive. This is a ten-week crochet class for beginners who want to learn how to make with their hands in a steady and clear way. Students will start at the very beginning… how to hold the hook, how to hold the yarn, how to form the first loop. Each week builds on the last so you are not overwhelmed, just practicing, repeating, and gaining control. Students will learn the foundational stitches, how they actually work, make small projects such as a scarf, a granny square, a mug cozy, etc., and learn how to read patterns so they're not dependent on a teacher once the course ends. By the end of ten weeks, students will be able to start and complete a project on their own. This is a space for students to learn a skill, build confidence, and leave with their own handmade crochet projects. Advanced students welcome, this is also a space for guidance and community. Practice yarn provided, students must supply their own crochet hooks and project yarn.
