She currently hosts Art.Heals.Grief Gatherings 4 times a year as day long retreats exploring art or movement modalities.     Introductory class will concentrate on the techniques of pinching, coil, and slab building during the class and encourage the development of pottery and practical objects as well as encourage small sculpture. A kiln is on the premises and we fire as needed.  Extra attention is paid to new students and beginners.   • Color to Canvas: Oil Painting Basics *NEW* Lynnanne Daly128.0 | Wed, 6:00 - 8:30 PM | Room F Began September 24 | $236 | 6 weeksStarting from the beginning, students will be shown the proper handling of oil paint, including set-up and clean-up best practices. We will explore the qualities that make oil painting unique, such as the ability of painting wet on wet, dry- brush, and the importance of the brush stroke.  We will explore various painting styles and techniques, referencing artists, and looking at classical and modern qualities of art. Students will paint from life and imagination, while learning the importance of observation. Students will be taught how to mix color, how to look at proportions and see light and shadow. Students will be shown distinctions specific to oil painting. They will learn how to work in a compositional manner.This class meets once a week for 6 weeks.

    Open for beginners and for those who already have an established watercolor art practice. I prefer students to set up still life objects and paint from life. However, students may come with preconceived ideas of how or what they would like to paint using a photograph as reference. Different approaches will be discussed, and techniques demonstrated, glazing, color washes, dry brush, color mixing, and color relationships to name a few. Compositional options will also be explored.
